PC Hardware: How Ego Can Cost Your Clients

Your customers might be tempted to their top managers and producers outfit with the latest and greatest hardware. Finally, a CFO or senior account manager has a tremendous amount riding on their daily performance and productivity. But they need better ways to spend their money to see.

What does your customer really wants?

Carefully software clients' application requirements, looking before their "emotional" needs to allow tech PC hardware drivePurchases. When a client CFO, most of a typical day crunching numbers in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and outputs the communication via e-mail in Microsoft Outlook, he or she really has only very basic PC hardware requirements.

Spend your money better, where?

Can be used as a virtual CIO for this client, you will find at least a dozen financial-software projects, you could at this CFO that more would bring the bottom-line results driven as an ego-working PC hardwarepurchase.

These consulting projects are infinitely more profitable to purchase your consulting firm than the slim profit margin on a high-end, commodity-like desktop PC hardware.

What Notebook PCs?

Also help your customers keep their egos in check with notebook purchase. Your clients can have some really useful multimedia functions in the high-end notebooks in the $ 4,000 to $ 5,000 price range.

But if the CEO of one of your most important clients only access to e-mail willDistance, one could easily equip him or her with a reliable, high performance, brand notebook for one third to one half that price.

Use your knowledge to help your customers

Your clients as a virtual CIO and technology visionary, you have a huge responsibility. Do not objective judgments of people and technology budgets of unnecessary bells and whistles tempted - especially if they take away the bells and whistles of technology may have issues that afar greater impact than the PC hardware purchases.

When in doubt, ask yourself this fundamental question:

"If my client the $ 5,000 that was on the verge of the" Rolls Royce "of notebooks and changed the amount of computer consulting services, which will be spent on an impact on their business, I had my company with a $ 5,000 budget make for a consulting project to take?
