Companies fail, and often. If you think you want to run your own business, but are not sure, you can create a successful entrepreneur, I am glad to think about it ... read on. How does an entrepreneur think, act and react? Is your personality will fit for a successful entrepreneur? Do you have what it takes?
Until recently, entrepreneurs were not well thought of. As young as the 80's we saw them as un-educated business people involved in shady deals. There was ageneral lack of knowledge and information about what makes them successful.
"Big Business" was the place to be, now that changes everything. Our generation and those that await us after so many more of our career / work than our parents. We want money, satisfaction, personal fulfillment and flexible hours as a 4-day week, and tele-commuting. We have small companies more than ever before in our history, the United States. In addition, smaller companies are now attracting good employees andCompete with the corporate world by the staff exactly what they want.
Today we have books, courses and business coaches in abundance. Some universities offer courses and degrees in entrepreneurship. Business professionals have extensive resources and we have a whole lot about what it takes to learn to be a successful entrepreneur. I know there is probably no such thing as the perfect entrepreneurial profile, I have noticed that there are many characteristicsin order to show that always seem to be in my work as a business coach. From my work with hundreds of entrepreneurs as a coach and trainer, this is my summary.
Successful entrepreneurs are, or have not
Available in small companies where it won no depth of management, the owner must be present to win. You can not afford to cover a support person to all business functions, and therefore need to either work long, have very talented people, or both.
Self-motivated entrepreneurs do notFunction well in structured organizations, and not like someone with power over them. Regulations, bureaucracy and political defeat. This is often what leads them to start their own businesses. Enjoy creating business strategies and thrive on the process of achieving their goals. When they reach a goal, they rapidly increased to a goal. They constantly look to the future vision of the company. They have a compelling drive to do their own thing their own way. TheyValue-free about money.
Well-Being-Successful entrepreneurs are sound in body and in good health. You can work for long periods as needed. They understand the relationship between a healthy body and a sharp mind.
Practical and pragmatic entrepreneur can accept what is and what is not, and deal accordingly with issues. You may or may not be idealistic, but they are seldom unrealistic. They want to know the facts and the state of a given situation at any time. Theyto trust (possibly because they are often idealists) and may not be sufficiently skeptical in their relationships with other people.
Embrace ambiguity - entrepreneurs identify problems and start working to solve them faster than other people. Uncertainty does not bother her, because her healthy ego feels challenged and loves to solve problems. They are the natural "to a" person of the group or business.
Intelligence to think - successful entrepreneurs, quickly on theirFeet. You can understand complex issues and circumstances, planning, strategy, or need to work on multiple business ideas at once. They have vision and are aware of important factors to consider. They are open minded and look at different angles. They seem flexible and are not afraid to change direction fail if.
Healthy ego - entrepreneurs are confident when they take control of what they do and work as often feel alone. They pack problemsHead on and meet soon with confidence. They are permanently in problem solving and are not afraid of intelligent risks. They do well with the need, because they thrive on their own level of confidence. Someone say or think, they can not deduct it does not disturb.
Urgency entrepreneurs have a sense of urgency. You have the drive and high energies, they are performance, and they are tireless in the pursuit of their goals. Idleness makes them impatient, on edge, and anxious. They thrive on activity and are not likely to find the nail salon or the golf course. When they are in the entrepreneurial mode, they are more likely to do Getting Things Done, instead of all the other "to".
Emotional stability-Successful entrepreneurs can manage stress and even fun! They are faced with the challenge not be discouraged by setbacks and failures. Entrepreneurs are surprisingly comfortable, when everything goes well. That is, if theyprobably you will find a new project on which they focus their creative energy.
Ability to let go-entrepreneurs are not always the best "people" people. They are often impatient and you drive yourself and all around them. They also resist delegating important decisions and responsibilities. My favorite coaching questions for the entrepreneur is: "Who can help?" It shakes them at any time. It is not uncommon for entrepreneurs to do the books, drive business performanceand buy the office supplies.
As the company grows and becomes an organization that entrepreneurs go through a classic crisis (usually when they call us). They have the bottle neck, the lack of control has a hard time for them, the authority in the manner evident that a growing business demands. Their strong direct approach makes them more likely to seek information directly from the source, bypassing the structured chains of authority and responsibility. Theirinterpersonal skills that were appropriate during the initial phase, they cause problems when they try to adapt and free from the daily operations. Cash flow, storage and low morale are symptoms of this problem.
Do you recognize yourself? Did you locate your likely strengths as an entrepreneur? Did you identify potential barriers to your success? Awareness is here. Concentrate on your strengths, realize your weaknesses and go for it!
